This Sanyo cassette player is in excellent condition, with only a few very minor marks as shown in the photos. All buttons are intact and function as they should. The battery compartment is clean, and the unit is fully operational.

Product Description & Further Details:

There is a slight crackle in the volume switch at the higher volume settings; however, this unit sounds amazing and has very little wow and flutter (see information below). Overall, this device exhibits a few marks on the outer case, which is expected for an item of this age. It is in brilliant visual and working condition.

- New pinch rollers fitted or cleaned where needed.

- Capstan cleaned and checked.

Please Note:

The unit is fully operational and functions as intended. Everything shown in the pictures is included and reflects its condition. I have tried to describe the item to the best of my ability.

Wow and Flutter:

Wow and flutter refer to the variations in pitch that occur due to irregularities in tape drive speed during recording, duplication, or playback. For example, changes in the angular velocity of the capstan or the dragging of the tape within the audio cassette shell can cause this effect. Wow is a slower variation, while flutter occurs more rapidly. All tape players have some level of wow and flutter, and most manufacturers indicate their measured tolerances for specific players when new. Be cautious of claims of no wow and flutter in these units when buying.

Age and use can increase wow and flutter, often due to dirty or dry moving parts, such as a dirty capstan, polished capstan, capstan bearings, or dirty pinch rollers and heads. A worn belt, belt size, quality, and pinch roller issues are also major contributing factors. All these potential causes are meticulously checked during my refurbishments. Deformations in the cassette compartment can also contribute to this issue, but it largely depends on the quality of the cassette being used. I always recommend performing a full rewind and fast forward on older tapes before playing to help mitigate any issues.
